Patrick Pelletier

I have a bachelor’s degree (2009) and a certificate in visual arts (2002) from Laval University (Quebec, Canada), but I’ve been interested in the arts since I was very young.

I’m inspired by new technologies and love exploring ambiances, both sonic and visual. My current research explores the different ways in which works of art are transformed and can evolve over time under different influences: technological, social, cultural, and so on. This phenomenon, which I call “remix”, manifests itself in several disciplines and in different forms. We’re already familiar with it in music, but it doesn’t just exist there – it can be found just about everywhere!

My practice is very varied and certainly eclectic, but I still stay within the aesthetic that I prefer and that I love. I like my work to be calm and conducive to contemplation. Meaning is optional: everyone finds in my work the meaning they wish to infer in it.
